Tuesday: Stereotype

Each day brings with it opportunities to make comments, to make judgements, and to name label others according to our self, family or cultural opinions about others. Let us take this time to evaluate our thoughts, word choices, and responses. Were we operating within a stereotype environment?
Stereotype is defined (Wikipedia) as a fixed or over generalized belief about a particular group, class of people”.
Our stereotyping is against others; yet, it affects us?
• It hinders our love walk since our word choices and actions can hurt others and our Christ-like witness.
• The after effect of our negative judgements, result in guilt feelings.
• It permits us to operate from a narrow view of the world (close-minded).
• It opens the door to negativity.
• It doe not glorify God whose image we are walking in.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16, KJV).
