The Waiting Game

Most of our lifestyle is locating in the waiting room. We wait nine months to be born, we wait to receive our weekly paychecks. We wait to transition from kindergarten into elementary school, then into middle school, high school and by choice either, enter the career world, enter a trade school, enter longevity of college and graduate school. We wait to receive notification of a new-born baby, a wedding invitation, church membership, political leaders, health report, loan disbursement etc. The waiting game is not an option; however, how we choose to wait is.
As we continue to enter the waiting zone, let us choose to use this time wisely. First, let us be thankful and grateful for the opportunity to wait on God’s answers to our situations, circumstances and relationships. Next, let us make sure that our waiting is not in vain through our thought process. Let us remind ourselves to think on “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” (Philippians 4:8). Finally, let us remember to have faith in God and declare “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11).
