Side Effects: People Pleasers

Having compassion and being concern for others’ feelings, circumstances, and personal problems illustrate our Christ-like love for others.  When does concern for others become a hazard to our Christian lifestyles?

When we become people pleasers and decide to:

Avoid confrontation- we do not want to upset the other person.

Burden barrier-we are so focus on our family members’, friends’ or co-workers’ situations, that we forget to engage in self-preservation.

False guilt-feeling like we let someone down.

Let us remind ourselves that

“For I am now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ” (Galatians 1:10)
