We are given the opportunity to engage in self-perception of our situations, circumstances, and relationships. When we channel our perception through negative lenses, we tend to see people, places, and things as joy stealers, envious siblings, jealous co-workers, and spiritual thieves. We get caught up in the moment of hatred, unforgiveness, and social isolators. We pull back from a social gathering, thinking they don’t like us. We avoid emails, text messages, and phone calls by convincing ourselves that these people are just gossipers and nosy. We avoid confrontational conversation, since we operate from the assumption that it might jeopardize, our weekly pay increase, cause us to appear as troublemakers, and be placed on written warnings.
We should just take the time to re channel that nervous and negative energies into being confidence in Christ; then, whatever situations, circumstances, or interactions we encounter throughout our day, we can deal with it knowing that we have overcoming reassurance and inner peace. In order to maintain and establish our perception in Christ, we need to spend time meditating on Scripture, praising our Messiah through our verbal proclamations, and Worshipping Him through our lifestyle choices.
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things” (Philippians 4:8).
