Holiday Thinking

Our thoughts linger over holiday planning. We are excited about family gatherings. We dazzle and razzle to the holiday songs. We anticipated Black Friday sales and prepare to take off from work and wait in line for the stores to open. All of our holiday plans require thinking, more thinking and rethinking how to schedule maintain, or eliminate people, places, and things from our holiday’s agenda.
As we are pondering over these thoughts, let us not forget to be thankful, grateful, and submissive to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Our thinking process must be rooted upon and in God’s word. We should spend time daily preparing our holiday thinking by meditating on God’s divine holiday plan for us individually and collectively. We can renew our mind daily by searching the Scriptures to find out how God wants us to think, say, and do. Let us always remind ourselves that “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee” ( Proverbs 23:7).
