Essential Practice of the Faith in Family: Listening Prayer
We all need to take a break from listening to self-talk and believing that is the answer to our prayers.
God’s Word reminds us “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on to your won understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6),
Let us begin the process by:
In prayer, reject Satan’s suggestions, which are interferences
In prayer dismiss our personal thoughts, assumptions, and interpretations about the situation, circumstance or person’s actions.
In prayer and throughout the day, ask the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom and discernment regarding our situation.
Finally, in prayer and after prayer let us be still, operate in patient, and listen.
“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you” (John 14:26).
