Condiment: Hot Sauce

We use a variety of condiments to add flavor to our meals.

Wikipedia defines condiments as “a spice, sauce, or preparation that is added to food to impart a specific flavor, to enhance its flavor, or in some cultures, to complement the dish”

To spice up our lifestyles we add amusement through Facebook, media, social events, movies, concerts and, the internet.

As we think of the condiments that flavor our food, let us  think about what are our complimentary spiritual condiments?

As we add hot sauce, we spice up our meats, beans, and eggs. It energizes our physical body.  The hot sauce through the blood of Jesus Christ offers us:

The gift of eternal life. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10 NIV).

Cleansing and forgiveness from past, present, and future sins. “God made him who had no sin to be sin  for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” ( 2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV).

Redeem us from self-destruction, others’ plans to destroy us, and the world’s destruction traps. “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace” (Ephesians 1:7 NIV).

Let us make sure to season our day with the spices found within the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
