Christmas’ Joy

Joy to the world! the Lord has come;

Let earth receive her King;

Let every heart prepare him room,

And heaven and nature sing

And heaven and nature sing

And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

When Isaac Watts (1674-1748), who was known as the “Father of Hymns” wrote the song  Joy to The World it was  based upon Psalm 98. Even though it is a well known Christmas song, Mr. Watts original theme for the lyrics was the “second coming of  the Lord.”

As we engage in Christmas caroling or just singing the song, remember that Jesus is coming back and we are so grateful for His Christmas birthday.

” Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music;

Make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing,

with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn.

Shout for joy before the Lord, the King ” (Psalm 98: 4-6).

Have a joyous Christmas
