The Thrill Is Gone

“The thrill is gone. The thrill is gone away. The thrill is gone baby. The thrill is gone away. You know you done me wrong baby. And you’ll be sorry someday. The thrill is gone. It’s gone away from me. The thrill is gone baby. The thrill is gone away from me. Although, I’ll still live on. But so lonely I’ll be” (By B.B. King, The Thrill Is Gone).
When we think about the lyrics to the song, we realize that it reflects a life filled with hurt, unforgiveness, bitterness and result in a lifestyle of isolation. We experienced this when we live in hate and unforgiveness as well as wrestling with bitterness. The thrill to serve others, offering a loving hand, enjoying fellowshipping with self and others no longer linker within our souls. The feeling of you being treated wrong override the urge and spiritual prompting to move forward to overcome evil with good. The someday notion of eventually being over the wrongful treatment remind in our minds that we will get over it in the future but never now. We tell ourselves that we are free from the hurt harm or damage; yet, we can’t shake the devastation, painful memories, and feelings of disguise and anger. We tell others this past hurt does not control our current actions and reactions; however, we have no joy or inner peace.
In order for the Thrill to be Gone, we need to confess our true feelings, cry or shout it out, seek the Holy Spirit guidance and pray until something happens (PUSH) within our spirit and souls which will transition into our physical appearances and interactions.
“Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven” (Psalm 107:28-30).
